The Calpe Alicante collection by Wandkraft is an exclusive series of wall decorations inspired by the iconic La Muralla Roja apartment building in Calpe, Spain. Designed in 1973 by Spanish architect Ricardo Bofill, this unique building is known for its striking geometric shapes and vibrant colour palette.
In early autumn 2018, photographer Ivo Rikkert travelled to Calpe and obtained exclusive rights to photograph La Muralla Roja . His work captures the intricate architecture, which references the floor plans of a North African kasbah, with interlocking staircases, platforms and bridges. The exterior facades are painted in various shades of red, while the patios and staircases range from sky blue to indigo and violet, creating breathtaking contrasts and spatial illusions.
The collection includes several artworks that capture the essence of this architectural masterpiece. One example is "Secret Passage" , a geometric design in striking shades of red, blue, lilac and pink, in which architecture and illusion merge.
Each piece in the Calpe Alicante collection is crafted using high-quality materials and is available in a range of sizes and finishes to fit seamlessly into a variety of interior styles. This collection offers a unique opportunity to integrate the avant-garde aesthetics of La Muralla Roja into your own space.
